Implants are man-made teeth that are permanently anchored in the jawbone. It might be a great solution if you are missing one or more of your teeth. Implants are terrific alternative to dentures and even bridges.
Implants are based on research and science and have successfully passed the test of time. Since their invention in early 1950s, the technique and procedure for their placement has gradually evolved and improved greatly. The initial implant procedure involves placing a titanium post into the bone. Then, after sufficient healing time, implant is "loaded" with replacement tooth or teeth. After a while the implant becomes physiologically fused to your jawbone because of the special coating on it that resembles the chemical composition of the natural root surface and lowers the chance of your body's immunological defenses rejecting it as foreign. The surgical portion of the implant procedure is generally performed by Oral Surgeon or Periodontist (gum and bone specialist). The subsequent tooth-loading procedure is done in our office, while coordinating efforts between the surgical team and our own. Implants can help you look and feel your best. Call us today to schedule an informative consultation to determine whether you are a good candidate for such procedure. |
